Mentha oil prices fell by 0.4 per cent to Rs 746.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their positions amidst lower demand from consuming industries in spot market.
Further, adequate stocks position in spot markets on higher supplies from producing belts put pressure on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 3, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 746.70 per kg in a business turnover of 314 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in March shed Rs 2, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 757.10 per kg in 79 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by a lower demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
