Mentha oil down 0.5% on profit-bookings

Oil for delivery in April traded lower by 0.46%

Mentha oil prices fell by 0.50% to Rs 907.70 per kg in futures market today after speculators booked profits at current levels amid fall in demand from consuming industries.

Besides, higher supplies from producing regions also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell by Rs 4.60, or 0.50%, to Rs 907.70 per kg in business turnover of 391 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 4.10, or 0.46%, to Rs 918.80 per kg in 431 lots.

Analysts said profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels after demand from consuming industries fell in the spot market amid higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
