Mentha oil prices moved down by 0.94 per cent to Rs 672.40 per kg in futures trading today, tracking a weak trend at spot market due to subdued demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October moved down by Rs 6.40, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 672.40 per kg in a business turnover of 123 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 6.20, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 661.70 per kg in 413 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators after demand declined in the spot markets from consuming industries, mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
