Mentha oil prices fell by 1.08 per cent to Rs 835 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions, triggered by higher supplies in the spot markets from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 9.10, or 1.08 per cent to Rs 835 per kg in business turnover of 324 lots.

The June contract traded lower by Rs 8.60, or 1.01 per cent to Rs 847 per kg in 220 lots.

Analysts said the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh against subdued demand from consuming industries.
