Mentha oil remained weak for the second straight day and prices eased further 0.33% to Rs 992.80 in futures trading today as traders took to reducing positions amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June month eased by Rs 3.30, or 0.33% to Rs 992.80 per kg in business turnover of 375 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contracts traded lower by a similar margin at Rs 1,008.70 per kg in 63 lots.

Market analysts said besides weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market, adequate stocks in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh kept mentha oil prices lower in futures trade.
