Mentha oil down 0.2% on profit-booking

Oil for delivery in March shed 0.18%

Mentha oil fell 0.23% to Rs 777.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking at existing higher levels amid fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 1.80, or 0.23%, to Rs 777.10 per kg in business turnover of 248 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in March shed Rs 1.40, or 0.18%, to Rs 787.20 per kg in 73 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid decline in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil, they said.
