Mentha oil prices rose 2.39% to Rs 1,042 .90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by strong demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Besides, tight stock position in the physical market on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh supported the upside.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July contracts surged Rs 24.30, or 2.39%, to Rs 1,042.90 per kg in a business turnover of 221 lots.
