Mentha oil remained weak and prices shed 0.81% to Rs 1,058.70 per kg in futures trade today, tracking a falling trend at the spot market on subdued demand.

Besides, adequate stock position in the physical market on higher arrivals from producing belts hastened the downtrend.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July moved down by Rs 8.60, or 0.81%, to Rs 1,058.70 per kg in a business turnover of 507 lots.

Similarly, the oil prices for delivery in June contracts traded lower by Rs 7.80, or 0.74%, to Rs 1,044.20 per kg in 163 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices in futures trade.
