Mentha oil futures fell 0.31% to Rs 848.20 per kg today as speculators locked-in gains at prevailing levels amid increased arrivals in the physical market from major producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July declined by Rs 2.70, or 0.31%, to Rs 848.20 per kg in a business turnover of 170 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in this month was trading lower by Rs 1.70, or 0.70%, to Rs 837.80 per kg in 151 lots.

The fall in mentha futures was mostly due to profit booking by speculators after recent gains and increased supplies in the spot markets against sluggish demand, analysts said.
