Mentha oil futures fell 1.54 per cent to Rs 917 per kg today as speculators locked-in gains at prevailing levels amid increased arrivals in the physical market from major producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery this month declined by Rs 14.40, or 1.54 per cent, to Rs 917 per kg in a business turnover of 457 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 8.90, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 929 per kg in 163 lots.
The fall in mentha futures was mostly due to profit- booking by speculators after recent gains and increased supplies in the spot markets against sluggish demand, analysts said.
