Mentha oil futures up 0.18% on pick up in demand

Mentha oil prices edged up by 0.18 per cent to Rs 1,016 per kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February month rose by Rs 1.80, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 1,016 per kg in business turnover of 68 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January month contracts edged up by 20 paise, or 0.02 per cent, to Rs 1,004.40 per kg in 100 lots.
Traders said building up of positions by participants driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market against tight supplies from producing belts mainly contributed to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
