Mentha oil futures up 0.67% on rise in demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Mentha oil prices rose 0.67 per cent to Rs 911.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts put pressure on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June rose Rs 6.10, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 911.90 per kg, clocking a business volume of 70 lots.
The oil for this month delivery traded higher by Rs 3.30, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 947.40 per kg, with a trading volume of 190 lots.
Marketmen said raising of bets by speculators, driven by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
