Mentha oil prices rose 0.74 per cent to Rs 770 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions amid pick-up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 5.70, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 770 per kg, clocking a business volume of 31 lots.
The oil for February delivery traded higher by Rs 4.10, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 757.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 200 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
