Mercedes-Benz launches GLA-Class at Rs 33.33 lakh in Chennai

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today introduced luxury Sports Utility Vehicle the GLA-class in Tamil Nadu market extending its product range in the country.
"it (GLA-Class) is an all-rounder with hallmark Mercedes- Benz SUV genes, comprising many unique segment first features that will appeal to our new generation of customers..", Mercedes-Benz India, Vice-President, Sales and Network development, Boris Fitz said in a statement.
"Witnessing the unprecedented response to the GLA-Class that resulted in more than 600 confirmed bookings even before its India debut, we are very confident that the SUV will redefine the segment and make an important contribution to product offensive of Mercedes-Benz in India," the statement said.

The GLA will be available in two variants -- the Style and Sport. The diesel variant GLA 200 CDI will be available in Style and Sport line, and petrol GLA 200 in Sport only, it said.
The GLA-Class 200 CDI Style is priced at Rs 33.33 lakh, the 200 Sport is priced at Rs 36.64 lakh and the 200 CDI Sport priced at Rs 37.56 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), it said.
Mercedes-India retails S-Class, E-Class, C-Class, GL-Class and M-Class while completely built imported cars include A-Class, CLS-Class, SLK-Class and B-Class. The company registered a 47 per cent growth in financial year 2013-14, it said.

The company has a production facility spread across 100 acres in Chakan near Pune and also has an independent assembly facility for passenger cars. The company has 65 outlets located across 36 cities, the statement said.
