Mercedes launches AMG GT S in India priced at Rs 2.4 cr

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today launched AMG GT S in India in the performance car segment priced at Rs 2.4 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
The car, which comes with a 4-litre bi-turbo engine, is the company's 14th new product introduction of the year in the country.
The company had announced its plan to launch 15 new products in 2015 in India.
"The launch of the AMG GT S is the finest example of our top-of-pyramid approach for the Indian market as we are presenting the most acclaimed product from our global portfolio," Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger told reporters here.
With the AMG GT S, the company has yet "another winning product" for India, he claimed.
The car comes with various features, including adaptive brake lights, composite braking system, automatic child seat recognition and eight airbags.

When asked about the sales performance of the company so far this year, Folger said: "We had a great year so far. We have grown around 34 per cent in January-September this year compared with the same period previous year."
Besides, the company has added 15 more dealers in its sales network, thereby taking the total number to 80 outlets across the country, he added.
The company has also seen growth in tier II cities like Kanpur, Jalandhar and Ahmedabad, besides gaining traction in the traditionally strong tier I cities, Folger said.
"We are looking at sustainable growth. Feedback for products is very very encouraging and all signs point out that we are doing the right things here," Folger said.
When asked which products have done well so far during the year, Folger said GLA, CLA and SUV segments have been received well by customers.
"In fact, the SUV segment has grown over 70 per cent from the same period of last year," he added.
