The new A180 Sport is the 15th model launched by the company as part of its strategy to close the year with a record volume of over 13,000 units.
Mercedes India managing director and chief executive Roland Folger, who assumed office only in October, said the 1.6 litre 4-cylinder petrol model (A180 Sport) will come at Rs 24.95 lakh and the 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel (A 200 CDI) at Rs 25.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
"The A-Class pioneered the compact luxury segment here and with the new A-Class we have just raised the benchmark.
Mercedes leads the market in volume and marks fulfilling the commitment of launching 15 new products this year.

Folger added, "Our product offensive in 2015 with the '15 in 15' approach has been highly successful and is bearing fruit, as is visible with our sustained growth momentum.
"We are confident that the addition of the new car will further strengthen our new generation cars portfolio and will continue our conquest of new customer base."
Set up in 1994, Mercedes India's product portfolio comprises the locally produced Maybach S 500, S, E, C, and CLA-Class sedans and the GLA, GLE and the GL-Class SUVs.
That apart, it also sells imported models like the A and B-Class compacts, the CLS, SLK, E-Class Cabriolet, S-Class Coupe, and the S 600 Guard, the iconic off-roader Mercedes-AMG G 63 and AMG performance cars like the CLA 45, C 63 S, E 63, SLK 55, S 63 Coupe, GL 63, ML 63, S 63, GLA 45 and GT S.
