Mercury drops in HP due to rains
Press Trust of India Shimla The day temperatures in Himachal Pradesh today dropped by two to six degrees as lower and mid hills were lashed by rains and sleet, causing extensive damage to standing wheat crop.
The region had a clear day in the morning but thick clouds overcast the sky within no time and rains and sleet lashed the lower and mid hills.
The rains and sleet lashed lower hills of Una, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Solan.
The maximum temperature dropped from 36 degrees C to 28.8 deg C in Una, a drop of six degrees, while it dropped from 30.5 deg C to 26.5 deg C in Nahan.
The state capital Shimla, which was lashed by intermittent rains, recorded a high of 19.4 deg C, while Kalpa settled at a maximum temperature of 16.6 deg C.
