Mercury drops in Raj; Churu hottest at 43.2

Many places in Rajasthan recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius with Churu being the hottest place in the state at 43.2 C even as some areas received light to moderate rainfall today.
Churu sizzled at 43.2 followed by Sriganganagar at 42.7 degrees Celsius. Bikaner recorded maximum of 41.7 degrees C whereas Jaipur and Jaisalmer touched 41.4 degrees C, the Met department report said.
Churu and Pilani also received 9 mm and 3 mm rainfall respectively later in the day.
Isolated areas in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Bikaner divisions also recorded light to moderate rainfall in last 24 hours.
The Met department has forecast thunderstorm accompanied with squall at isolated areas here during next 24 hours.
