Mercury drops in Raj due to light rains, Jodhpur hottest at

Dust storm and light rains in parts of Rajasthan today brought down temperature at many places although Jodhpur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.8 degree Celsius.
With the day temperature in several parts of the state between 31.6 and 40 degree Celsius, Kota, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Barmer and Jaipur recorded maximum temperature of 44, 43.6, 43.4, 42.9, 42.2 and 41.8 degree Celsius respectively, according to Met department here.
Meanwhile, places like Pilani, Kota and Churu received 6.9 mm, 1.2 mm and 0.4 mm rains till this evening, it said.
In a prediction for next 24 hours, the Met department has said that dust storm and thunderstorm accompanied with squall at isolated areas in the state is expected. Heatwave conditions would also prevail at isolated areas.
