Cold wave conditions prevailed in parts of Bihar today as the mercury settled at 4.2 degrees Celsius at the temple town of Gaya, making it the coldest place in the state.
Celsius against 5.6 degrees Celsius yesterday, a MeT office bulletin said.
There was a slight drop in the maximum temperature in the state capital today, which was recorded at 20.4 degrees Celsius vis-a-vis 21 degrees Celsius yesterday.
In Bhagalpur, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, while it was 4.3 degrees Celsius in Purnea.
The state weather office has forecast mainly clear sky tomorrow with the minimum temperature of Patna forecast at 5 degrees Celsius.
Bihar is under the influence of intense cold wave conditions since yesterday mainly due to westerly winds and snowfall in northern states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
