According to the MeT department here, Hisar sizzled at 42.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, while Bhiwani recorded maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius.
Ambala recorded a high of 40.9 degrees Celsius and Chandigarh's maximum settled a notch above normal at 40.5 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar braved the hot weather at 42 degrees Celsius, up two notches than normal.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 41.7 degrees Celsius and 41.2 degrees Celsius respectively, a MeT official said.
