Mercury plummets in most places of Rajasthan after rainfall

Minimum temperature plummeted by 1 to 6 degrees Celsius today at most places in Rajasthan due to light rains recorded in last 24 hours, a MeT official said.
People in the state capital woke up to cool breeze and foggy condition due to intermittent rainfall recorded last night.
In last 24 hours, Ajmer recorded 7.1 mm rainfall followed by 7 mm in Alwar, 5.4 in Banasthali, 4.9 mm in Jaipur, 4 mm in Bundi, 3.4 mm in Pilani, 3 mm in Swai Madhopur, 1 mm in Sikar, 0.6 mm in Dabok and 0.4 mm in Sriganganagar.
According to the MeT department, dense fog shrouded in Jaipur, Swai Madhopur, Bhilwara and Phalodi. Fog was also witnessed in Barmer, Sriganganagar, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Churu.
Minimum temperature was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius in Ajmer after a drop of 6 degrees in comparison to yesterday. Udaipur recorded a low of 9 degrees Celsius, Jaipur and Churu 12 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur and Barmer 10 degrees Celisus and and Bikaner 11 degree Celsius.
MeT department has predicted light rainfall in various places of the state in next 24 hours.
