Mercury rises in Bihar

Mercury rose marginally in the absence of rain in Bihar which witnessed a humid condition today even as water level went below danger mark in all rivers.
Except for 1 mm rain in Purnea, rest other places in the state did not receive rainfall today, the Met office said.
Maximum temperature in Patna was measured at 34 degrees Celsius.
It was 34.7 degrees Celsius in Gaya, 33.2 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur and 33.5 degrees Celsius in Purnea, the Met bulletin added.
Relative humidity in the state capital was recorded at 88 per cent. It was 76 per cent in Gaya, 85 per cent in Bhagalpur and 94 per cent in Purnea, the bulletin added.
The state weather office forecast generally cloudy sky with moderate rain tomorrow.
Meanwhile, flood situation has come under control in the state with all major rivers flowing below danger level.
A statement of Central Flood Control said all embankments were safe in the state.
