Mercury rises in Raj, Sikar coldest at 5 degrees Celsius

Due to the ongoing effects of western disturbance, mercury has further risen every where in Rajasthan by one to five degrees Celsius even as Sikar was the coldest recording a low of 5 degrees Celsius last night while fog continued in the state disturbing train services.
Due to fog in north-eastern region of the state covering Alwar, Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sriganganagar, Bikaner districts and the adjoining states, seven trains of North Western Railway were running late by 55 minutes to 4 hours and 40 minutes, CPRO Tarun Jain said.
While the Guwahati-Barmer train was running late by 4 hours 40 minutes, Howrah-Sriganganagar train was delayed by by 4 hours 25 minutes and Gorakhpur-Hissar was 2 hours 10 minutes late, he said.
Meanwhile, Churu recorded a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius followed by Sawaimadhopur 7.5 degrees Celsius, Pilani and Sriganganagar 8 degrees Celsius each, Chittorgarh 8.6 degrees Celsius, Jaipur and Mount Abu 9 degrees Celsius each, a MeT Department official said.
Mercury may further rise in next 24 hours due to ongoing effect of western disturbance passing through Rajasthan since yesterday, the official said.
