Mercury rises marginally in HP

The maximum day temperatures rose by one to two degrees Celsius across Himachal Pradesh even as some areas of the state had mild rains.
Una in Shivalik foothill was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 40 degrees C against 39.2 deg C yesterday while Sundernagar recorded a high of 35 degree, followed by Bhuntar 33.2 degree, Solan 31.5 degree, Dharamsala 29.6 degree, Shimla 25.8 degree and Kalpa 20 degree C.
Gohar in Mandi district recorded 6 mm of rains while Keylong and Pandoh received 3 mm of rains while Solan had 1.4 mm rains followed by Bhuntar 1 mm and Sundernagar 0.7 mm and state capital Shimla traces of rain.
The minimum tempertures remained steady with Nahan hottest in the region during the night with a low of 21.2 degree, while Dharamsala and Una recorded night temperatures at 20.2 degree, followed by Palampur 16.8 degree and Shimla 16.2 degree, 3 degrees above normal.
Keylong was coldest in the region with minimum temperature at 5.4 degree, followed by Kalpa 6.4 degree, Manali 6.8 degree, 2 degree below normal.
Bhuntar recorded a low of 11.2 degree, followed by Solan 14.5 degree and Sundernagar 15.5 degree C.
The local MeT office has predicted more rains in the region from May 10 onwards as a fresh Western Disturbance as an upper air system would affect the western Himalayan region.
