Mercury soars above 40 deg C again in Delhi

Hot weather conditions prevailed in the national with the mercury touching 43 degrees Celsius mark in some parts of the city today.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered official for the city, registered a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
It recorded a minimum temperature of 28.1 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Aayangar recorded a maximum temperature of 43.0, 41.2, 42.6 and 42.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, said a MeT department official.
The humidity level oscillated between 76 and 27 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted overcast conditions with a possibility of thunder and lightning tomorrow.

"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 42 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 39.6 and 25.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
