Mercury settled at normal levels in the national capital today giving a marginal respite from above-45 degree temperatures which scorched Delhiites a couple of days ago even as the MeT department predicted possibility of a squall hitting the city tomorrow.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 40.6 degree Celsius which was normal for this part of the season.
Earlier today, Delhiites woke up to a partly cloudy sky with the minimum temperature settling at 28.9 degree Celsius, a notch above normal for the on-going period. During the day relative humidity oscillated between 17 and 55 per cent.
Weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy sky during the day with possibility of dust storm/thunderstorm or a squall hitting the city towards evening.
"This may cause the day temperature to fall below the 40-degree mark and settle around 39 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature may settle around 28 degrees Celsius," a MeT official said.
Mercury had touched 45.5 degrees Celsius on May 25, which was the highest temperature this season.
Yesterday, the day temperature had settled at 42.6 degrees while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.6 degree Celsius.
