Merely enacting laws wouldn't do: Yashwant Sinha
Press Trust of India Ranchi Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha today took a dig at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, and said "passing bills and enacting laws are not enough. They have to be implemented".
Referring to former President Rajendra Prasad's remarks that enacting law is not enough but implementing them is, he said, "Rahul patted himself in Parliament saying the House would be extended to enable passing all bills. But passing bills and enacting laws are not enough. They have to be implemented."
When the Congress was so keen to pass laws, why it was "silent" on 2G, Coalgate and Adarsh scams in the winter session of Parliament? he asked.
"I had written to the Speaker on the JPC report and wanted to put my points in the House. But I was not allowed... And in an unprecedented act the ruling members obstructed functioning of the House, which was adjourned two days before its scheduled date. But Rahul Gandhi remained silent on the 2G and other scams," Sinha said.
