As the city reeled under the grip of dengue, Delhi Metro has put up posters and banners at all stations and fed its public information display system with messages aimed at preventing further spread of the vector-borne disease.
Over 300 large size banners, containing information in a bullet-points format about the preventive measures have been put up at all stations across National Capital Region.
"We have taken the step considering that over 27 lakh passengers use the metro network daily. Making them aware of the dos and dont's at this moment is essential considering the rising number of dengue cases," a Delhi Metro spokesman said.
Apart from the banners, anti-dengue messages will scroll through metro's centralised display systems.
However, there would be no voice announcements as of now.
Awareness lectures about dengue prevention are being organised at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's depots and residential colonies as well, the spokesman said.
