Metro train services were disrupted for half an hour near the (Legislative) Assembly station Saturday after a "lighting arrestor rod" fell on the track due to heavy winds.
As a precautionary mesure, overhead electrical power was switched off and the fallen rod was removed, Hyderabad Metro Rail MD, NVS Reddy, said in a release.
Passengers were evacuated a few metres short of Assembly station and taken to the platform.
Power was immediately restored and train movement resumed, he said.
The disruption for half an hour was mainly due to safety precaution, he said, adding that engineers and operating staff have been instructed to increase maintenance checks during monsoon.
