Michael Douglas won't attend Academy Awards
Press Trust of India Los Angeles Hollywood star Michael Douglas will not attend this year's Academy Awards, but his actress-wife Catherine Zeta-Jones will still go. Zeta-Jones, 43, is taking a close friend to the ceremony on February 24 and her husband of 13 years will stay home with their children, reported Radar online. "Catherine is attending the Academy Awards with a family member, as Michael just doesn't feel like going," a source said. Douglas, 68, has battled stage IV throat cancer but a source close to him insists he is well and skipping the Oscars is not a result of a health setback. He was diagnosed in 2010. "Michael will stay at home with son Dylan and daughter Carys, while Catherine will attend the ceremony and the after parties with her pal," the source said. "He has been very busy of late, promoting his forthcoming biopic Liberace, as well as ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. "But Catherine looks forward to the Oscars every year. She loves the glitz and glamor of the event and wouldn't miss it for the world," it added.
