Last year, HPE had said it will sell its software business to Micro Focus in a USD 8.8 billion deal.
This deal marks the creation of the world's seventh largest pure-play enterprise software company in the world, it said in a statement.
Chris Hsu, formerly COO of HPE and Executive Vice President and General Manager of HPE Software, has been appointed as CEO of Micro Focus.
With more than 5,800 employees in R&D, the combined company will deliver solutions around DevOps, Hybrid IT and security and risk management, and predictive analytics.
