Microsoft Hyderabad today announced the successful roll out of the third edition of TOFFEE (Total Offence Free Entity), a traffic awareness initiative organised by the company's employees in association with the Cyberabad Police.
DCP (traffic-Cyberabad) Avinash Mohanty and DCP (traffic-Hyderabad) Shyam Sundar, announced that TOFFEE will be valid all over Hyderabad city as against only Cyberabad Commissionerate limits (till now) from this year.
"The partnership between the Cyberabad Traffic Police department and Microsoft has significantly improved traffic and road safety conditions in the Cyberabad region. In 2012, together with Microsoft, we helped Wipro roll out this program for their employees. This year, we would like to see more companies come forward and replicate TOFFEE," Mohanty said.
"All they need is to approach Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, and we, with the help of Microsoft volunteers, will extend all possible help in rolling out TOFFEE for their organisations," he added.
Commenting on the programme, Chitra Sood, Director, Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt Ltd, said, "the extension of TOFFEE outside the Cyberabad region to cover all of Hyderabad is a strong endorsement of the efficacy of this programme".
At a function held at the Microsoft Hyderabad campus, TOFFEE certificates were distributed to over 350 company employees today.
TOFFEE initiative started in 2011 by a group of Microsoft Hyderabad campus employees in association with the Cyberabad Police, in a bid to improve awareness about the basics of road safety and traffic laws.
TOFFEE is a certificate issued by the Cyberabad Police in the form of a sticker (valid for one year), which exempts its holder from being stopped for routine document checks by the traffic police.
