"The State Vigilance Commission has directed Chief Education Officer Ramban to appear personally before the Commission on December 31," an official spokesman said.
He said that the commission has taken a serious note after it received a complaint that substandard and low quality meals were being served to students of Class 1 to 8 in the Government Girls High School Kumate in the district.
He said that the commission had called for a report from the CEO Ramban, who instead of conducting an enquiry, informed the commission that the matter has been resolved amicably.
"This depicts the callous and lackadaisical approach adopted by the officer in order to shield his juniors at the stake of health of the students," the spokesman said.
The SVC, while taking serious view of the prima-facie mala fide procedure adopted by the CEO Ramban, has summoned him in person in order to elucidate his position to proceed further in the matter.
