Mild rains at isolated areas in Himachal

Dry weather conditions prevailed in most parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoon remained weak in the hilly state.
Barring mild rains and precipitation at some places, rains eluded most parts of the state even as sky remained heavily overcast for most part of the day.
Nurpur in Kangra district was the wettest in the region with 28 mm of rains while, Saloni and Dharamsala received 22 mm and 18 mm of rains, followed by Jogindernagar 14 mm, Bangana 13 mm, Pandoh 10 mm and Palampur and Gaggal 9 mm.
Shimla, Solan and several areas in mid and lower hills did not have rains for the third consecutive day today but there was no significant change in mercury.
Una was the hottest area with maximum temperature at 33.8 deg Celsius while Bhuntar recorded a high of 33.5 deg C, followed by Sundernagar 32.3 deg, Nahan 28.5 deg, Dharamsala 27.8 deg, Shimla 24.4 deg and Kalpa 24 deg C respectively, one to 4 deg above normal.
The local MeT office has predicted rains and thundershowers at many places during next six days as a fresh feeble Western Disturbance (WD) as an upper air system lies over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood.
