Mild showers brought respite to people of Delhi from hot and humid conditions as rains had evaded the city for last two days.
The national capital witnessed 13.4 mm rains in the afternoon, MeT Department said.
The mercury touched a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius, a notch higher than the normal, while the minimum was recorded at 26.1 deg C, normal for this time of the year.
In Punjab and Haryana, mercury hovered 2 to 4 notches above normal at many places as weather remained dry.

Patiala, too, experienced sultry weather recording a high of 35.5 deg C, up two notches while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 34 deg C, up one degree.
Hisar in Haryana, had a hot and humid day at 36 deg C, up one degree while Ambala's maximum settled at 35.1 deg C, up two notches.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded maximum temperature at 35 deg C, up two notches.
In Rajasthan, light to moderate rains were witnessed at Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota and Jodhpur divisions.
In Himachal Pradesh, no significant change was witnessed in mercury even as heavy rains occurred at some places districts of Kangra and Solan.
Dharamsala in Kangra district received 62 mm of rains while Kasauli in Solan district had 52 mm of rains, followed by Mandi 16 mm and Kangra 9 mm.
The maximum temperature remained steady in the region with Una recording a high of 34.6 deg, followed by Bhuntar 33.0 deg, Sundernagar 32.4 deg, Kangra 31.6 deg, Nahan and Solan 28.6 deg C.
Meanwhile, mild showers occurred in Unnao, Chandauli, Derapur, Kerakat, Gunnaur and Sahaswan areas of Uttar Pradesh.
