The militants blew up the school using explosives in Bezoot area of Lower Orakzai Agency -- one of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
However, no loss of life was reported.
Militants have often targeted schools in Pakistan's volatile tribal areas.
Dozens of schools have been blown up in the past in various areas of Orakzai Agency, considered a stronghold of terrorists.
On December 16, Taliban gunmen stormed into an army-run school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's capital Peshawar and killed 150 people, most of them children. It was the most horrific assault in Pakistan's history.

Meanwhile, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) today foiled a militant plot by defusing six bombs in Peshawar.
The BDS officials defused the bombs found from a canal in Ghaziabad area. A manhunt has been launched to arrest those involved in the failed plot.
In view of the attack on the school in Peshawar, secuirty has been tightened in the provincial capital.
