Young people's mindset has to be changed through education to tackle the issue of cyber crime against women, a Trinamool Congress MP has said here at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
"Whether online or offline, crime first is in the mind of the criminal. So change of attitude or mindset of young people has to be started immediately through education and awareness for respect towards women and equality of women," said Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Lok Sabha Member, who is here to attend the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
"Stronger implementation of existing laws and sensitisation of police has to be done," she said.
Dastidar emphasised that empowerment of women needs to be done through education and training.
Talking about Sustainable Development Goals, she stressed on maternal and infant food security.
She said food wasted by developed nations not only could feed 795 million hungry people daily but that food going to landfills also gives rise to Methane raising greenhouse gas levels.
