Mines bribery: Suspended IAS officer, 4 others sent to jail

Rajasthan's suspended Principal Secretary (Mines) Ashok Singhvi along with four others were today sent to judicial custody by a court in Udaipur in connection with a bribery case involving clearance for reopening of six closed mines of a miner.
Additional director in mines Pankaj Gehlot, Superintendent Engineer Pushkar Raj Ameta and two other accused-- Sanjay Sethi and Rashid Khan-- both brokers, were also sent to judicial custody by an anti-corruption bureau court till September 29, an ACB spokesperson said here.
On September 21, the ACB court had sent three other accused Sher Khan, Virendra Singh and Shyam Singh 'chintu' to judicial custody.
Eight persons, including suspended IAS officer Singhvi, were arrested in the infamous graft case involving bribe of around Rs 4 crore on September 16 in raids by ACB sleuths at Udaipur and Bhilwara.
Meanwhile, IG (ACB) M N Dinesh told PTI that the bureau would file charge sheet in the case by November 10.
