Security forces today unearthed a mini-gun factory, allegedly run by Maoist outfit PLFI, inside a jungle in the district, police said.
The joint team of CRPF and police recovered 30 incomplete country-made pistols, 36 pistol barrels, 30 pistol triggers, 63 springs used in pistols, 29 pistol hammers, a gas cylinder, welding equipment and other items.
Superintendent of Police, Ashwini Kumar Sinha said the team launched a search operation in the jungle between Kontager and Goharom villages last night after getting a tip off that People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) leaders had assembled there.
Though no leaders were found there, the security personnel stumbled upon the mini-gun factory suspected to be operated by the PLFI leaders, Sinha said.
