Minister advocates for more use of Hindi in official work

Union Minister of State for Health Shripad Yesso Naik today advocated for more use of Hindi language and said it is part of everybody's "constitutional responsibility" to use it for official as well as day-to-day functions.
Health Ministry officials said to improve Hindi skills, the 'Rajbhasha Vibhag' will soon establish a language lab to provide training to the employees in the Ministry. It is also trying to encourage people to work in Hindi at least once a week on Mondays.
"This is part of our constitutional responsibility to work in Hindi language in our day-to-day routine as well as for official purpose.

"Hindi is not only 'Rajbhasa' (official language) and 'Rashtrabhasa' (national language) but 'samparkbhasa' (communication language) as well. We need to strive to use it more in our daily work," he said.
He was speaking after giving away awards of the winners of various competitions which were held during 'Hindi Pakhwara' celebrated in the Ministry last year.
Stressing on the need for using technology to improve Hindi language, Union Health Secretary B P Sharma said Hindi is a very simple language and it needs to be kept simpler.

Noting that his ministry is regularly trying to improve Hindi skills, Joint Secretary Rakesh Kumar said the 'Rajbhasha Vibhag' will soon establish a language lab in the Ministry.

"This will provide training to the employees within the Ministry, who would earlier be sent outside for such training. The Ministry is trying to encourage people to work in Hindi at least on Mondays to begin with," Kumar said.
Director General of Health Services Jagdish Prasad, who was present on the occasion. Stressed the need to evolve ways for improvement of Hindi.
