Speaking to reporters, the minister promised all government assistance for the cadet's treatment. He would be shifted to the military hospital at Bangalore on September 15, he said.
The incident occurred when M Anus, a B.Com first year degree student, was picking up a paper target on the range. Another cadet accidentally fired his gun, hitting him on the shoulder.
He was hospitalised immediately in a hospital at Thalassery and later moved to Kozhikode.
