Recent enforcement of 'no work no pay' by the government and an appeal by Chief Minister Vijay Baguguna seeking an end to the stir had no effect on the striking employees, who burnt the copies of the government order on strict implementation of the regulation at Parade ground in the state capital today.
The employees have threatened to further intensify their agitation if a government order was not issued immediately revising their pay scale as per recommendations of the 6th Pay panel.
"We are not moved by the chief minister's appeal nor are we deterred by the government order on enforcement of 'no work no pay'. We will not end our strike until we get a government order revising our pay scale," Uttarakhand Federation of Ministerial Services Association office bearer Deep Chand Budlakoti told reporters here.
Meanwhile, the government has begun to deduct salaries of the striking employees under 'no work no pay' regulation for the period beginning December 27, the day the strike began.
Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain said the state government has asked district magistrates to deduct the salary of the employees with immediate effect as they are bent upon continuing their strike.
The chief minister had appealed to the striking employees yesterday to end their stir expressing readiness to talk to them.
