Minor boy dies after touching live wire

A nine-year-old boy died today after he came in touch with a live high-power electricity wire on Gauriganj-Jagdishpur road in the district, police said.
The deceased, Yogendra, son of Matadeen Vishwakarma a resident of Ramshahpur village under Jamo police station was killed when he was caught by a live wire, police said.
Irate villagers took to the streets following the incident, blocked traffic on the highway and they could be dispersed only when officials SDM Amethi R D Ram, Circle Officer Muafirkhana Sumit Shukla and SDO Electric Gauriganj reached the spot.
Ram assured Rs one lakh ex gratia for the bereaved family and said an FIR will be lodged with Jamo police against the "laxity" of power department.
In a separate incident, the body of 40-year-old Chunnu, who was allegedly killed by his younger brother Ramtilak three weeks ago near Bazarshukul police station area, was today recovered by the police, Circle Officer of Musafirkhana said.
Shukla said the two brothers, both sons of Satthin village-based Ramadhar, got into a brawl over some family dispute following which Ramtilak allegedly killed Chunnu and later buried him in some remote area.
Acting on a tip off, police nabbed the culprit, questioned him after which he revealed the place of burial, Shukla said.
