Minor boy found dead in canal in UP

A 10-year-old boy, who went missing five days ago, was found dead in Gangnahar canal here, police said today.
The minor boy had left for his farm on Sunday last but he did not reach there following which his family members lodged a missing complaint with Jani police station the next day.
The body was recovered from the canal near Nangla village yesterday, police spokesperson said.
On receiving information, police officials rushed to the spot and apprised SSP D C Dubey about the incident following which Jani station in-charge Bhojraj Singh Pundir was sent to police lines.
Protests erupted against police authorities for their alleged inaction in the incident.
Based on a complaint by the family members, police have lodged a case of kidnapping and murder against three village youths Aslam, Akram and Furkan.
The body has been sent for DNA test, the spokesperson said, adding, stern action would be taken against the guilty.
Meanwhile, the boy's family members have alleged that he was sexually assaulted before being killed.
