Minor boy killed as wall collapses in storm in Mathura

A minor boy was killed as a wall collapsed on him in Baldeo area here after massive storms and rains battered parts of the city, officials said today.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when 10-year-old Abhay, a resident of Gausna village, was returning home after grazing his cattle and a huge storm accompanied with rains lashed the area, government sources said.
The boy, who took shelter near a house, was trapped as the wall near him collapsed on him, they said.
Villagers rushed the victim to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Regarding deaths due to natural disasters, the central and state governments had announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively to the family of the deceased, Mahavan tehsildar Devendra Singh said.

The official said that the naib tehsildar's report in the minor's death has been received and the sanctioned amount would soon be disbursed to the bereaved family.
They also said that the injuries and losses borne by others would be ascertained and they too would be given financial assistance.
