A minor fire broke out at Jindal Steel and Power Ltd's (JSPL) under-construction ancillary facility at Angul plant in Odisha without causing much damage, the company said today.
The accident occurred soon after JSPL completed its 6 million tonne per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant at Angul in the eastern state.
"A minor fire broke out yesterday at our under- construction ancillary facility at our Angul plant in Odisha. The fire was controlled and there were no casualties. The operations at our Angul plant are not affected," JSPL said in a filing to BSE.
The company has an insurance cover for such incidences. However, the amount of loss is yet to be ascertained, the company said.
