Minor fire breaks out at South Central Railway HQ in Hyd

A minor fire broke out at the Rail Nilayam, the headquarters of South Central Railway, but the damage was minor, with only some old and already damaged furniture getting gutted.
Noticing the smoke, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to the spot and took steps to put off the fire, a SCR release said tonight.
The fire brigade too was immediately informed. Two fire engines reached within minutes and brought the blaze under total control, it said.
No records or files have been burnt and no damage has been caused to the building, it said, adding an inquiry would be undertaken to ascertain the cause for the fire.

Measures would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, the release added.
