Minor girl accidentally falls on gas burner, dies

A four-year old girl succumbed to burn injuries after she accidentally fell on a gas burner while playing at her house in Gandhi Nagar area of Shahdara, the police said today.
The incident took place on July 22 when Aayat was playing in her house along with her brother.
"The girl's elder sister was making tea for all the family members when Aayat accidentally fell on the gas burner following which a tea pot fell on her head," they said.
She was rushed to a local hospital by her mother.
"The girl had suffered severe burn injuries on her face, head, chest and other parts of the body. She was later referred to Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) hospital where she underwent treatment. She died yesterday," said a senior police officer.

No foul play was suspected. The girl stayed with her family, including six siblings, at a single room accommodation in Gandhi Nagar.
