An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men at Gena Tola Chhatbaniya village of Bihar's Madhubani district, police said.
As per an FIR lodged yesterday by the victim's mother, the incident occurred when she had sent her 11-year-old daughter to bring vegetables from the wife of a man of the same village.
When the girl reached his residence, his son and another youth allegedly locked her in the room and raped her one by one. The girl, who received bruises on her body, managed to escape, the FIR said.
Station House Officer Ramesh Kumar Sharma said that an FIR has been lodged under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4/6 of the POCSO Act.
Though the incident of rape will be known only after getting a medical report, the SHO said, adding that police have taken the two accused men in custody for interrogation.
If the report of medical examination -- for which the girl has been sent to Sadar hospital Madhubani -- confirms rape then the men could be awarded death sentence under the new provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
